Summary: 
The Accounting Manager oversees the accounting for development and generation
departments that support RES's portfolio of wind, solar, and storage assets. Duties will include technical accounting guidance, deal support, journal entry review, reconciliation preparation & review, month-end close, financial reporting, audit support, finance & regulatory compliance, contract review, and business support.
Requirements:   
  • Manages the month-end close process for development, generation, and financial reporting. This includes journal entry review, reconciliation preparation and review, financial reporting, and compliance.
  • Demonstrates technical accounting expertise related to development and generation businesses, including appropriate accounting treatment of revenue recognition.
  • Possesses in-depth knowledge of GAAP and IFRS Accounting Standards.
  • Prepares monthly and quarterly financial packages and annual audited/reviewed financial statements, including preparation of related footnotes and disclosures.
  • Prepares policy and transactional accounting memos through the application of technical guidance.
  • Oversees all accounting for the development and generation, including revenue recognition, expense classification, asset retirement obligations, impairment testing, derivatives, fair value accounting, joint-venture accounting, statement of cash flows, and other required reporting.
  • Acts as the accounting representative to support internal and external advisors from deal due diligence to deal completion to ensure proper accounting implications are considered and accurate financial data is utilized throughout transactions.
  • Works with the Corporate accounting team to ensure that the intercompany recharge process and reconciliation between various subsidiaries are accurate and completed on time.
  • Monitors cash needs of the business and works with finance/treasury to manage cash flows.
  • Collaborates with operations, finance, FP&A, and legal to ensure proper accounting for and compliance with contracts, detailed evaluation of financial results, and budgeting/forecasting.
  • Leads process improvement, automation, and efficiency efforts for various business processes, systems, and reports.
  • Investigates, produces, reviews, analyzes, and issues periodic reports on general business activity.
  • Reviews, analyzes, and re-classes P&L activity to ensure proper income statement presentations.
  • Oversees continuous improvement to process documentation.
  • Assist with system implementations and data integrity.
  • Attends work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected.
  • Complies with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct, and Company Policies & Procedures.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Presents, supports, and leads-by-example with a safety and quality-oriented attitude.
  • Identifies US GAAP to IFRS differences and reports out appropriately.
  • Prepares GAAP financial statements specific to revenue recognition, expense classification, ARO
  • accounting, PP&E Impairment testing, statement of cash flows, derivatives, joint venture, associate and minority interest accounting, and fair value accounting.
  • Supports the CFO and Director of Accounting in additional projects.

Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5 or more years' experience in public or industry accounting required.
  • 3 or more years’ management experience required.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally 5% required.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Advanced Excel.
  • Highly organized, self-directed, and proactive.
  • Strong time management and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills - clearly expressing information via schedules, tables, charts, and, commentary to superiors or management.
  • Ability to manage under tight deadlines and handle multiple complex tasks in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Functional competencies include accountability, attention to detail, prioritization, continuous improvement, and ethics & integrity.
Anticipated base salary range:  $101,000 - $119,000
 
The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. This position is bonus eligible.
